I've kind of gotten into the whole dog book thing recently, I just finished reading A Dog's Purpose, really good book, you should read it if you can! The basic plotline is that a dog is born as a mutt, then dies, and is reborn. Reborn!!! In his second life he is a Golden Retriever. He finds a boy named Ethan and becomes his pet. After that he dies again after a long life, and then he's reborn AGAIN!!! After he is reborn again two more times(!), he is reunited with Ethan, but he's dying. Ethan, not the dog.
